Josephine Wall has always considered the art of painting to be more than a career. To her, it is an all-consuming obsession and a love of colour and form. Since the age of four, she has always known that there is nothing else that she wanted to do.

Jo has so many images in her mind that it is a race against time to produce them all. Partly because of this sense of urgency, she chooses to paint with acrylics, which allow her to complete work more quickly and create many different textured and colourful effects.

Josephine has been inspired by the greats such as Arthur Rackham, Magritte, and the pre-Raphaelites but most of her paintings centre on nature, the preservation of which is a subject close to her heart.

It is also important to Josephine that people do not become bored with her images. This is why she likes to paint in such detail and nearly always hide creatures, faces and other items within her paintings, thus, hopefully, providing years of enjoyment. As people have become used to her style of work, they often find things that are not intentionally there.
